This book used short and sweet examples that only focused on what the topic was for that page. My only criticism would be that it did not explain more about some of the topics covered.
REVIEW: jQuery: Visual Quickstart Guide
That is okay however, because with the knowledge I have from this book, I feel I will better understand the more advanced jquery books I have. One person found this helpful. This book is extremely well written and concise. The only problem is it's pg's.
I have about 15 other Peachpit Press books and they average closer to pg's. The book covers the basics extremely well, but there should have been another pgs of intermediate info. With a million tutorials online touting"A Million and One Ways to do Whatever in Jquery" or "75 Cool Jquery Plug-ins to do whatever" I wanted a book that would give me a solid foundation in the framework, with good examples and clear explanations. Easy to follow and with functional, practical segments, all I had to do was just follow instructions and in no time was versed in practical and correct applications of Jquery.
I would highly recommend this for designers, beginners and those seeking a quick and easy Jquery reference. It really compliments the quickly growing collection of articles and resources on the web. The first few chapters were error free.

- jQuery: Visual QuickStart Guide | Peachpit.
Not a way to get a jump start on a new technology. I love the Jump Start series. But this edition should never have been distributed. The problem is with the errors in the examples that really interfere with the ability of the reader to quickly and easily learn jQuery.

Through the inspirational, wise, and informative stories of the residents, either in their own words or based on interviews, and environmental photographs of each, this book focuses on various residents of long-term care facilities and especially on the positive facets of their life, their thoughts, and their feelings. The only issue that reaches the media about nursing homes is the negative and unfortunate events that sometimes occur, but there is so much more to the story.
Most people are afraid of long-term care homes because they recognize that it is the last phase in their life - it is the step before death. But some people have years from the time they enter the home until they die.
This book shows how many men and women make the best of their situation - often leaving a positive legacy for family and friends - and how these can be fulfilling and quality years.
