Like many concepts in the book world, "series" is a somewhat fluid and contested notion. A good rule of thumb is that series have a conventional name and are intentional creations , on the part of the author or publisher. For now, avoid forcing the issue with mere "lists" of works possessing an arbitrary shared characteristic, such as relating to a particular place.
Avoid series that cross authors, unless the authors were or became aware of the series identification eg. Also avoid publisher series, unless the publisher has a true monopoly over the "works" in question. So, the Dummies guides are a series of works. But the Loeb Classical Library is a series of editions, not of works. Home Groups Talk Zeitgeist.

There are a lot of secondary characters but by far the best are Patience hippie mom and dad who own a store. Patience mother never really saw the future but it made for some laugh out moments.
So instead the townsfolk instead stop by to help Patience in her different humorous moments. Murder By the seaside is an entertaining murder mystery with lots of laughed and non-stop action making this book impossible to put down. There are some spelling and grammar errors that took me out of the book and is the reason I gave it four instead of five stars. I wish I could tell you what pages but I was reading it on my kindle fire as well as my iPhone. I love the characters, the mix of characters, mystery, humor and action. Now I am reading the next book Murder comes Ashore.

This is a good mystery, that keeps you guessing until the very end. The reader is not just introduced to the characters, the reader is brought into the family.

The plot is full of enough twists and turns that interest doesn't wander. I started this book, and didn't stop reading until I had finished. I'm going to contact family back east, later on, and ask: I'd recommend it to anybody who likes a good mystery. Not much "x" rated stuff here. Good mystery writing doesn't really need it. I'll read more by this author, for sure. I enjoyed this book because it had a lot of action and humor. The characters were interesting and diverse. I don't think the overall story was believable, but it was well written and quite entertaining.
I like Patience, the former FBI employee, who has returned home and is seeking a career as a counselor on the island of Chincoteague. The descriptions of island life were funny and rang true. I have already purchased the next two books in this series to consume. One person found this helpful.

The story was true to the area of the Island and their celebrations. There was enough "finger pointing" and characters with motive throughout to keep you guessing who the guilty party is. An enjoyable time of escape from a rather dull, gray weather-mood to the warm beaches and sunshine on the coastal shores of the Atlantic! This is a fun quirky book. A good read when one needs to unwind and just relax.
As a long time visitor and lover of the Island, I found many details about Chincoteague lacking. I feel that author did not do her homework on the area. I still enjoyed and recommend this book. Cute main character with cute parents. I enjoyed the humor and the writing is excellent. In all, a very pleasant airplane or beach read. The characters are fun and the plot s are intriguing. I was expecting a bit more closure at the end, but with sequels, there will be more to come.
I do not know of a mall with an escalator anywhere within an hours ride from the locale or several hours for that matter!! I have attended the Pony Penning and the Island has its own mystique.
