Just the right amount of sass! Then there's the guys For six months they waited for someone to replace the last Romance and mystery, a sassy FMC, four hot guys and a lot of chemistry For six months they waited for someone to replace the last member. The last thing they expected was to find Norah, a voodoo priestess, since covens have always been made up of five males. Is it possible she's the fifth member or was she drawn to the four hotties for a different reason? Either way, they can't deny the chemistry between them.
While trying to figure it all out, they must unravel the mystery of who's after Norah and why. I finished the book in less than a day, I just couldn't put it down. The story progressed nicely, some very hot high heat scenes in there and just enough mystery that the book has all the elements for a great read.
I recommend it for everyone who is a fan of RH, romance, witches, mystery, high heat, sexy hunks, magic. Sep 03, Latasha Waters rated it liked it. Summoned By Magic Overall a good read good storyline. However the 'voice' of the character not what I expected of a black southern woman from Nawlins'. It threw me when the character used words like 'Holy f--k'.
Do southern black women use this verbiage?!! Do black woman say these things.. Not that I am aware. I read books from various authors and you can tell when they are not completely in tuned to their audience. I would have given this a higher rating had the homework been done to Summoned By Magic Overall a good read good storyline. I would have given this a higher rating had the homework been done to really make this voodoo priestess truly shine with her cohorts.
I will say the cover artwork is fabulous. The original cover where the main character has beautiful natural hair in crimson was awesome! Jun 02, BJ rated it really liked it Shelves: Urban fantasy, with RH building. The h feels pulled towards something, she finds it is a coven of 4 male witches who have a sad history. I found the guys to have limited depth to their characters, but the h was great, likeable and real.
There are magical issues to resolve, there is an Order for witches and all sorts of dire outcomes if they include a female in their coven. Yet she has increased their powers greatly, then there is the fallout - queue steamy scenes. Great fun, with a little light Urban fantasy, with RH building. Great fun, with a little light mystery - I liked it a lot, some errors in story line and grammar were jarring. I'm not a YA fan so the college setting wasn't great but they are all about to graduate so there is potential for a more adult view.
Mar 07, Anna rated it it was amazing. Great start This is a great start to this new series. I love witches and magic. Norah practices voodoo, which is not evil like everyone else makes you believe, and lives peacefully in New Orleans running her shop. Until she gets this undeniable urge to travel. She's pulled to the front door for 4 sexy as sin guys. Now she just has to figure out why, stay alive, oh and not kill Travis. I tell you, I'm a sucker for the a-holes but Travis hasn't won me over yet. Lots of action and suspense. And EM s Great start This is a great start to this new series.
And EM sure turns up the sexiness in this one.

She is super awesome and a strong heroine while not being too annoyingly independent! I will definitely be reading the rest of the series! Jul 02, Destiny Bridwell rated it really liked it. I received a copy of this for a fair and honest review. I have not read a lot of RH, but there seem to be a lot of them coming my way for review. So I decide to just jump in with both feet to see what all the hype is. This one is about Norah and she is the descendant of a voodoo priestess.
She could not resist the pull of the rest of the coven. The four of them feel it too, but one seems to try to pull away. It cause a bit of friction among the group. Absolutely love Norah and her grandma seems an amazing woman Definitely someone you would want in your corner! The explosive way Randy and Norah came together The fun loving brit, Gabe..

Great start I enjoyed this book very much.
I have been in a rh mood lately but it is hard to find any that are not YA. Lots of sexy times throughout. The character and story building keeps a reader engaged while wondering what's going to happen next. At times I thought it was going to be predictable, only to be proved wrong. I can't wait for the next book. Sep 05, chris rated it really liked it.
Summoning the Night
She is ultimately led by her instincts to an apartment of 4 handsome men. Little by little she is informed of happenings around Salem. There are a few twists and turns but otherwise a great start. This is not a slow burn. Loved the difference in characters. The men are steamy and not at all super alphas. Sep 03, Tera Comer rated it really liked it Shelves: Norah had just the right amount of sass to keep you chuckling. This is reverse harem style book about Norah, who is a badass Voodoo witch who is drawn by 'the pull' to a group of four very sexy men who happen to be witches of a coven waiting for their fifth. Dec 16, Heather rated it it was amazing Shelves: Absolutely fantastic to read about Athena, Venus and Hera getting together to stop the big bad "silly" men from fighting in the Trojan War any longer. Oct 22, Rachel rated it it was amazing Shelves: Cast steals my breath away. I have not started her YA series, but her adult writings One of my favorite book of hers is Warrior Rising. It's based on the famous Greek Trojan War. It's the 6th book to the Goddess Summoning series -- which you don't have to read in order, they're all separate stories -- and in my opinion of the hottest.
You follow 31 year old Kat who gets sucked into an 18 year old body. She's supposed to stop Achilles from advancing the war. This is where my pe P. This is where my personal preference comes in: Hard, moody, sexy, troubled man who's actually sweet and innocent. You see a different side to him, and he's someone you'll grow feelings for too. I seriously want to lick him from head to toe. Is that a little much? Kat is independent, fierce, smart, and extremely caring. She's the type of person you want to have as a friend.
Both of them together are a perfect match. He's the big testosterone warrior, and she softens him. The plot has a good pace, it's not slow or boring. It's definitely a book for someone who wants a step above YA, so please don't read if you're not ready for romance to go in depth. This book left me speechless.
I freaking loved this book. It has to be the best in this series. C Cast a medal because she deserves one. This was pure genius. Honestly speaking i hated the Trojan War because of how it turned out but this book made me love it. I never put down this book from the minute i got it and actually got in trouble with my bio and chem teacher for not paying attention in class. Yes it was that good. But it was worth it and when i finished i read it again. This book has everything.
Romance to die for Rib cracking comedy Drama you name it You know when you see a review and someone says the book was a page turner and kept them glued to their seats. Well this book certainly did. I hate the fact that this is the last one in the series and i really wish P. Oct 20, oshawnteexo rated it it was amazing Shelves: I love Greek mythology and this one was a winner: Cast will always and forever remain as one of my favorite authors. No matter how similar or predictable her books may be, they always attract me and keep me reading.
I love the way that she writes her novels with such a huge sense of reality and yet how she seems to keep this sense of historical truth in her piece as well. I felt that there was a lot within this book that was worth reading, enough to keep the adrenaline racing and have me wanting to NOT put the book down. The author made me P. The author made me chuckle with the crafting of her two modern mortal characters, for I was able to clearly visualize them within my mind, as young women, unmarried and yet desiring of some lust and love in their love.
She crafted them with her words perfectly, meaning that it was evidentally alive in my mind as I was reading, making it a much more enjoyable read. Of course, I kept envisioning the guys as half horse, half men, but that is merely because I am familiar to her other books, goddess by mistake, but as I continued to read, I was able to really see what it was that she was painting with my head. I loved the way that she did not make the book over cliche and showed that love is about work, its about realizing the flaws and accepting them no matter what.
I just felt that in some ways the book had some messages and morals to it, that we all have an angry side to us that takes over, but no matter what, it does not have to be all and end all of us. We can be who we want to be. The romantic touch of the book was very well written and even the hot and steamy sections have me squirming within my seat a little, which just showed to me how realistic she had made her book feel.
I found myself unable to put the book down and was determined to get to the end to make sure that it was a happy ever after. Tears formed in my eyes when it seemed like the story of kats friend and her lovers cousin was at an end, when it seemed he would die.
My heart was screamiong at the pages, begging for them to not let the character die. And yet at the same time, I felt kats fear and worry when her lover went of to war and was not himself. I felt her concern. For me, the author really made the emotions breathe and be with her words. She made the reader connect with the piece so that they were not only reading it, but they were feeling it and experiencing it. I loved every inch, line, word and chapter of this piece. It is one of those books that I would happily read over and over again if I ever needed a novel to read. Not once have I been put of by one of her novels and hope to read and own her entire collection of books as I go on in life.
Also known as Warrior Rising. This is an amazing story with a little twist. I loved the modern and the ancient coming together to bring you a story that is sure to have your attention. I recommend all the Goddess Summoning series I wish she where to write more! PC Cast is just so good at capturing the heart and soul with these books.. May 01, Antigone G.
The premise of the book is really simple; two modern women, Kat and Jackie have their souls hijacked and swept into the bodies of Polyxena, Princess of Troy and Melia, her servant. Kat and Jackie are modern women, living in the modern world… our world; the Trojan War has ended thousands of years ago and they both know everything about Achilles and the Trojan horse and blah blah blah. Why on earth do the Goddesses want to end something that has already ended? Of course this is the 6th book in the series… maybe P. Another thing that I really disliked was the cursing!
The two main girls cursed so much that it became annoying and utterly disturbing. I know it was supposed to be funny and hilarious, but in reality it was just annoying and unbelievable. They kept talking as if they were still in the modern world with zero efforts to blend it. The characters were ok I guess.
Entertaining, but without depth. Jackie got on my nerves some times to be honest. I think my poor baby Patroclus deserved someone better. She was just too loud — in a bad way — and the way she got appalled by the fact she turned white made me dislike her even more. I mean, I get it, she was shocked and all, but being white is not the end of the world!
Lastly, I have a slight problem with the ending. It was way too quick and happy of a wrap up. It felt really abrupt and the chapter before the epilogue seemed way more fulfilling. I wished to know more about what happened at the end of the War. Why did Achilles have to change his name? It was unnecessary in my eyes. And the name Kat gave him? Aug 14, Adriana rated it it was amazing Shelves: Another fun and charming volume of the Goddess Summoning series, this is the story of what happens when three of the major goddesses Hera, Athena and Venus decide that the Trojan War has gone on long enough and hatch a plot to have a modern woman Kat distract the Greek warrior Achilles so that the war can finally end.

Everyone knows how the Trojan War ends, but following along with Cast on her own interpretation of events was fun and full of some great romantic moments. She has a knack for giving great personalities to the ancient Greek gods and creating fully-fleshed characters that are easy to relate to. I can say as an Ancient Greek junkie and because of my total infatuation for the Trojan War and Brad Pitt Achilles I absolutely had to read this book and I am so incredibly glad I did because I loved it. I found myself cheering Kat on which I can say as an Ancient Greek junkie and because of my total infatuation for the Trojan War and Brad Pitt Achilles I absolutely had to read this book and I am so incredibly glad I did because I loved it.
Briseis really annoyed me in Troy the movie so I was pretty glad to read so much Briseis-bashing in this book. Nov 05, Fel rated it it was amazing Shelves: It's been so long since I last read book by P. Cast and now I remember why I loved her stories. I loved the contrast between the characters and I absolutely loved the bickering between Kat and Jacky. I want one wounded and scarred Achilles for myself, despite being a warrior that is feared by all he is also just a guy that wants to be accepted and there are times we get a glimpse of his shy side.
One thing I didn't like is how Kat willingly handed the Trojans on a silver platte It's been so long since I last read book by P. One thing I didn't like is how Kat willingly handed the Trojans on a silver platter to the Greeks. I mean I understand that she isn't exactly Trojan and therefore she doesn't have any ties with them. However, seeing how much Polyxena's family loved Polyxena, doesn't she feel guilty or have any sense of remorse? I felt like she betrayed her own kind Warrior Rising becamed one of my favorite book of Goddess Summoning series.
This book which is based on the famous Trojan War is hottttt. Who wouldn't like to get sucked into an 18 year old beautiful body when you are 31 years old?! She must stop Achilles from advancing the war. Achilles hard, sexyyy, sweet, innocent, wonderful man Oct 31, Denise rated it it was amazing Shelves: A funny and totally "girls best friend" kind of book. I laughed out loud at many of Kat and Jacky's comments to each other.
Both ladies were very much "modern mortals" in their opinions and attitudes and I think the ancient world will never be the same with them in it! And even though some of the plot was a bit far-fetched the ending for one , it was still a tale that caught me and wouldn't let me go until the last page. My favorite line of the story: More specifically, I decided how I wanted the story to end for each character and then I made it up.
Accept the passion for what it is--the pleasure that two individuals can find in the arms of one another. Pleasure that is enhanced by the love they are exhibiting in opening their hearts and bodies to another person. Feb 28, M1ssb3rry rated it it was amazing.
